This lighthouse is part of a network of aids to navigation around the Australian coastline maintained by the Australian Maratime Safety Authority for the safety of ships

The light was first exhibited in 1872 using kerosene. In ??1890?? the light was converted to ??automatic?? acetylene apparatus and ??demanned?? 240v Mains battery supply installed 1980
